Year 2 had a wonderful day exploring books and celebrating their love of reading.
After taking part in a range of book-themed activities throughout the day, we finished with an exciting book hunt. Inspired by the story We’re Going on a Bear Hunt, the children followed clues around the school to search for missing books hidden both inside and outside. The activity was great fun and encouraged the children to use their critical thinking skills to work out where the books might be hidden.
As part of our celebrations, the children also created potato characters at home inspired by their favourite books. I was incredibly proud of the creativity and effort the children put into their projects. During Show and Tell, the children were eager to share their characters, explaining how they came up with their ideas and telling the class all about their favourite stories.
It was a fantastic day celebrating reading, imagination and creativity!
