During out transition afternoon in the Summer term, the children made birds that represented themselves.
When they started back this week, we decided to make a tree for them to sit in. The children had lots of fun
painting the tree and leaves with sponges and brushes using different shades, exploring the use of tone.
The tree sits nicely by the window so our birds can watch the world go by. It frames our calm corner and allows the children a safe space to reflect. The children were overjoyed to see it put together when they arrived the following morning, truly making the classroom their own. A wonderful start to Year 2!
