This week year 4 have begun their curriculum timetable work and have settled into their new routines really well. We have enjoyed starting our new guided reading sessions looking at animal tales from around the world. This week's focus was the 3 Billy Goats Gruff from Norway – it was a fantastic opportunity to hear each child read individually. Similarly, we introduced our English focus and wrote some fantastic, expanded noun phrases about a mystery character. For maths, we began early MTC preparations by completing some TTRS worksheets focusing on basic recap. Finally, the children were very excited to begin the history unit on the Victorians and investigating sources to help us understand what life was like during the era.
Pictured is work from our 'no outsiders' book 'Along came a Different' The children were really mature discussing how the story can relate to real life and created some beautiful posters and wrote letters telling the shapes how to change the non inclusive rules.
