On Thursday, our Year 6 football team took part in a tournament at Nantwich Towb Football Club. During our first match, the team showed passing flair and had the lions' share of both possession and territory, converting to a 1-0 victory. We lost our second game to the eventual tournament winners but followed it up with a 0-0 draw where we were unlucky to come away with only 1 point. The team rallied and out 4th game saw a fantastic hat-trick scored (including possibly the goal of the tournament) in a 3-0 victory. Our final game was a real cracker! With seconds left to play and the score at 0-0, Audlem attacked on the counter and with the clock in the red, the centre-forward hit the ball into the top-right corner leaving the score at 1-0 and another victory leaving us in second place overall with 10 points. This means the team have qualified for the Timperly Shield competition to be played later this term. Well done to all our players – a fantastic result!
