Y4 Chocolate maths!

Year 4 have been learning about fractions in maths. They were very excited about having to choose which chocolate bar to stand next to and see how many pieces they got after every child had chosen which chocolate bar they wanted to share. There was a lot of thinking going on as they considered whether it was better to have 1/6 of a large bar or 1/4 of a small bar. A memorable hands-on experience which helped them understand about denominators and equal parts. We even measured to ensure everyone got an equal part of the whole!
