Year 6 have been writing poems to remember The Queen. They have been studying the poem by Simon Armitage, the Poet Laureate, written upon the announcement of her passing. Simon Armitage found out that The Queen's favourite flower was lily of the valley and compared her to this lovely flower. The children have been thinking of what The Queen meant to them and what metaphors they would use to describe her, using Simon's double acrostic poem as their inspiration.
