London's Burning

The children in Pearl Class recreated the Great Fire of London in Forest School. The children created Pudding Lane and the streets of London using the Tudor Houses that they had made. The children knew that the houses were very close together and this helped the fire to spread. The fire started in a bakery on Pudding Lane and quickly spread to houses nearby. The children were able to see how the wind determined the direction in which the fire spread.
