Y6 – Bags of Blood!

Today, Diamond Class learned all about blood! We first made plasma using golden syrup and water; the red blood cells were represented by Cheerios and Vimto; the platelets were made using rolled up balls of sticky tape and, finally, we added marshmallows to play the part of white blood cells.We then focused on two types of white blood cell – phagocytes and lymphocytes – and discussed how they use different techniques to neutralise and destroy viruses.
