Ocarinas

On Thursday, Year 5 began to practise their own compositions using ocarina tab and their knowledge of different notated rhythms (using crotchets, quavers and semiquavers).
They were allowed to use any notes to compose their music and learned that not all notes will work together well in a piece. Next time, the children will be introduced to the idea of scales and modes to keep their pieces in a particular key.
