For World Book Day Pearl Class became story detectives! We learnt from the author Alex T. Smith how to be a story detective and use our surroundings to inspire a story. We used magnifying glasses to look closely at the objects, colours and feelings in our classroom to inspire our creative story ideas. We also wrote a book review for either 'The Dragonsitter' or 'The Dragon Machine', reflecting on what happens in the plot of the story, the characters and whether we would recommend the book or not. We then designed a front book cover for our very own machine stories.
We really enjoyed listening to Catrice from Settle Stories retelling a Ghanaian Spider Story about Anansi and his many tricks!
