Y4 Science

Year 4 had a very messy time building a model of the digestive system. They used different objects to model how each part of our digestion works. They first showed how banana and biscuit enter the mouth and is mashed up by our teeth, and then used plastic bags, lemon juice, tubes and water to show the stomach, the oesophagus, the intestines and finally showed how the waste leaves our body and goes into the toilet. The children learned about how we absorb nutrients from our food and what happens to the food in each stage of the process. They were not so keen on modelling the last part, and it caused a lot of giggles!
