Winding mechanisms with Pearl Class

Home » News » Winding mechanisms

Pearl class explored winding mechanisms. For their first Focussed Task the children were challenged to create a simple winding mechanism using only dowelling, string and a cotton reel . They then used this mechanism to lift a load. The children made models that reflected their ideas and they evaluated their products as they were developed, identifying strengths and possible changes they might make.
