Pearl Class visited the Heritage Centre at Macclesfield Museum on Tuesday 22nd October. They had the chance to dress up as Victorian school children and experience lessons as they would have been long ago. They experienced three Victorian workshops at the Old Sunday School including the Victorian Schoolroom, Cottage and Parlour and Object Handling. The children handled artefacts that were over one hundred years old. They became history detectives as they decided the purpose for each object, they looked closely to draw the artefacts and then labelled them. The children enjoyed learning about rich and poor children in the past, their clothes, toys and homes. All the children agreed that they would prefer to be a child living today rather than a child in the Victorian period due to the many hardships they faced.
