During our History themed week, the children in Pearl Class have asked the questions: Why do we celebrate V.E. day? What happened leading to V.E. day? Did V.E. day signal the end of World War 2?

They have created a timeline of events leading up to V.E. day and used accurate measures in weight when exploring War time recipes. Some children created a model spitfire and others used Morse Code to write secret messages.

If you are interested in learning more there is an episode of the Horrible Histories called Heroic Home Front. It is a special episode in Series 8, and it is going to be repeated on 10th May. Look out for it!

World War 2 ended in 1945. During the 40's, swing dancing was all rage. Here are some modern people demonstrating some of the popular moves of the time.
