School webteam: July 2015
2015 will see the 16th annual Audlem Festival of Transport organised by ASET. Approximately 330 vintage cars, vans, trucks and buses are expected to join the 2015 parade from Hankelow to Audlem.
Here at Audlem St James Primary School, Sapphire and Pearl classes invited parents, friends of the school, members of the ASET team and local businesses to bring vehicles to stage our very own transport festival on the school field. Our topic this term has been 'Transport — Planes, trains and automobiles.' We have explored mythical forms of transport and trained our own dragons! The children have explored the roles of workers at Manchester Airport and visited the flight deck of a DC10. Our Transport Festival has given the children the opportunity to gain first hand experience of wheeled vehicles (old and new). We were fortunate to have a range of vehicles including a Tandem bicycle, a quad bike, vintage cars, a tractor, camper vans, motorbikes, a Range Rover, a flat bed lorry and even a LAMBORGHINI! Cheshire East Council demonstrated how a crane worked and we even managed to secure a Bentley!
A huge THANK YOU to all those who made this possible. The children at Audlem St James Primary School had a fantastic learning experience due to you!
