Pearl Class visited Staircase House in Stockport to learn about The Great Fire of London. They learned about how to build Tudor houses. They created wattle and daub walls with a partner and developed cures and potions to ward off The Plague.
In the afternoon, the children re-enacted the events of The Great Fire of London adopting the roles of Samuel Pepys, King Charles II, their maids and soldiers. They then baked bread in Thomas Farriner's bakery and learnt how to form a bucket chain to help put out the fire.
The children had a wonderful time and discovered many interesting new facts.
