Sapphire and Pearl Class visited Tesco.
Pearl class found out what happens to milk after it has been transported from the dairy. Pearl class met a farmer from the NFU and had the opportunity to milk a cow! They also searched the shop floor for dairy products. The team recalling the most products received a special prize. They also learned about the process involved in harvesting wheat, separating the wheat from the chaff and then grinding the grains of wheat into flour. The fishmonger talked to the children about the fresh fish on sale in the shop. It was a packed afternoon.
The children in Sapphire class worked in the bakery and made delicious hedgehog loaves that they brought back to school.
It was a very productive day. Thanks to all the staff at Tesco.
