Inspired by 'the lost words' by Robert Macfarlane and Jackie Morris
'Once upon a time words began to vanish from the language of children. The words were those that children used to name the natural world around them: acorn, adder, bluebell, bramble, conker -gone!'
Your mission, Pearl Class, is to look around your garden and make a collection of these very important words. You can present them through Art, Music or Poetry. You could make your own dictionary of these special words to ensure they are never forgotten.
Dandelion
The children have described, drawn and created dandelions. They have learned about the life cycle of the dandelion and how different parts of the dandelion are used. The children have written poems and cinquains. They have collected and sorted words so they will never be lost again.
