School webteam: February 2021
From the 1st-7th February 2021, the children, families and staff at Audlem St James Primary School will be taking part in the Place2Be's Children's Mental Health Week. The theme of this year's Children's Mental Health Week is Express Yourself.
Expressing yourself is about finding ways to share feelings, thoughts, or ideas, through creativity. This could be through art, music, writing and poetry, dance and drama, photography and film, and doing activities that make you feel good.
With most of our children learning remotely and lots of uncertainty, children's mental health and wellbeing has never been more important. Finding creative, enjoyable ways to share our thoughts, feelings and ideas can make us feel good and help our mental health, especially when we face tough situations or difficult times.
Pearl Class listened to the story 'Paper Dolls' by Julia Donaldson. They then created their own paper dolls, paper animals and paper friends. Some children chose to decorate their dolls to represent special friends and family who they have been separated from and are missing due to lockdown.
