Pearl class have been learning about fastening materials in Design and Technology. They looked at how the London Skyline has been depicted by artists including Monet and Turner. Using these paintings as a stimulus they then created a paper pattern for a skyline and used this pattern as a template to create a felt skyline. The children then explored a range of materials, fabrics, buttons and beads to create a fire collage. They explored techniques to fasten these materials to their work including running stitch. Luckily, many wonderful parents joined us in school for a Design Technology afternoon. We benefitted greatly from their support and the children enjoyed working with their own, and their friend's, parents.
