We have been thinking about how we can help people in our local and wider community in school this half term. Our School Council have been busy organising a Smartie challenge for each class in school to collect money for the 'Mend our Mum Appeal' and they also chose the charity 'Save the Family' for our Harvest Appeal.

Families in school were incredibly generous for both of these appeals and the money and food donations have been collected from school to go to help those who need our support.

Our Year 5 and 6 children worked with ChildLine as part of our Keeping Safe week in school and as part of this work they decided to hold a Cake Bake Sale to raise money for this worthwhile charity.
They brought in a wonderful array of cakes which were enjoyed by all and raised over £50 for ChildLine!

Efficient winter nests are essential if hedgehogs are to survive hibernation. Thus, in autumn, they begin to collect leaves, grass, straw, bracken, reeds and use these materials for building their own nests under hedgerows, fallen logs or piles of brushwood. These nests are surprisingly waterproof and they can protect the hedgehog against the cold. In our school grounds the children have...
