Father Christmas Flies in to Visit the children of Audlem St James' C.E. Primary School!

We had a visit with a difference at the start of December as Father Christmas flew into school on a helicopter to collect letters from our children and to speak to them all about their hopes for Christmas this year.
Flight Lieutenant Mike Barnett flew Santa in from Lapland via Royal Air Force Shawbury in Shrewsbury especially to meet the children at the school.
The children were thrilled as they watched the helicopter circle over their school before landing in the centre of the school field. They sang 'Santa Claus is coming to school!' as Father Christmas alighted before having the opportunity to meet the pilot and explore the helicopter themselves.
Father Christmas had a very busy visit making sure he greeted everyone, including the staff and visiting Police Officers and collecting the letters the children had written in their Literacy lessons for his visit.
Finally, it was time to say goodbye and the whole school waved to Father Christmas as he lifted off and the helicopter took a bow, giving all of the children once last chance to wave their very special visitors a fond farewell.
