School webteam: May 2015
It is Arts Week in school and a variety of Arts activities have been planned across the curriculum for all the classes. An extravaganza of dance, drama, music, design and technology and visual arts have been planned. Amethyst class have been developing their observation skills when drawing houses and homes. Sapphire class have been creating detailed self portraits. Pearl class have started a project on 'Wheels' focusing upon their journey to school. They have created painting in the style of Jackson Pollock entitled 'Journey.' They are also busy creating a chassis and axles for a moving wheeled vehicle. Amber class have studied Gakonga Art and the sculptures of Giacometti. They also designed and made a diorama rainforest. Ruby class have designed and made their own musical instruments and have used pastels to reveal animals camouflaged in a rainforest setting in the style of Henri Rousseau. Diamond class are working on an Aztec design project with a visiting artist, Christine Johnson.
